Business Studies is a real-life and relevant subject offered within Secondary School which aims to enable students at King Richard III College in Mallorca (Majorca) to develop an understanding of how a business functions and makes decisions. The subject provides a good foundation for further studies in this area and is very useful for students who intend to pursue a career in a business organisation. The course is especially relevant in this bi-lingual, international environment. All lessons are in English. This subject is a popular choice.
The University of Cambridge International Examinations Board curriculum is followed for IGCSE (International GCSE) in Years 10 and 11 (Key Stage 4) and provides students with a critical understanding of:

It encourages students to build a range of data skills, present judgements and develop arguments on the basis of available evidence, problem solve, plan, research and challenge assumptions, discussed within the context of the commercial environment.
In Years 12 for AS and 13 for A2 (Key Stage 5) we follow the Edexcel curriculum, single award International GCE. This is an Applied Business course and is examined through coursework and a written exam.

• Understanding customers needs and wants
• Market segmentation
• Market research
• 4Ps of marketing

There is coursework and a written exam in this subject.
